3 Weeks

I can't believe 3 weeks ago Mohs was folded up neatly in my tummy!  he is already turning into a long and luxurious little boy.

Mohs reserves crying exclusively for meal time ... although he continues to experience quite a bit of gas as his intestines work out the kinks, he doesn't cry -- just grunts and groans and wiggles appropriately until "things" pass on.  he also loves the dryer, which is convenient, because we go through a lot of laundry around here.

2 Weeks

at 8 pounds, 2 ounces, Mohs has gained an ounce a day for the last eight days, passing his 2-week checkup with flying colors (although his chicken legs look no better for it).  he's too long for most of his newborn clothes already, so I keep him in what I affectionately refer to as "his dresses" most of the time.

Mohs is not yet doing something new every day, but every day he gets better at what he does do -- eat and sleep and wiggle mostly.  he continues to tolerate Panzer's constant assaults (with toys, cheesesticks, fingers to the eye, etc.) with class and grace.  and he even smiled at Panzer this week -- I think accidentally, but P was so excited... their lifelong friendship has been cemented.

1 Week

at 1 week, Mohs spends a lot of time chillaxin' on his boppy, watching the insanity around him.  when it gets too much, he just closes his eyes and takes a snooze.  he smiles in his sleep :)  the rest of the time he looks very intense.

but good eater, good sleeper, good pooper -- doing all the things a baby should.

Putting a Name with a Face

before we left the hospital, Baby Boy got a name:  Mohs Aaron Ruda.

he's named after Friedrich Mohs, an 18th century German geologist who developed Mohs Hardness Scale (describing the relative hardness of minerals based on what scratches what).  and his daddy.

Welcome Baby Boy

welcome, little dude.

after a few episodes of Man vs. Food and 5 minutes of pushing -- 7 pounds, 13 ounces, 22 1/4 inches long, perfect and nameless.

one thing is clear -- he has more hair and less of a pointy head, but looks just like his brother, Panzer, and already makes the same faces and noises.
