Mohs is the smartest baby ever. no really.
he already climbs up the playground, and puts himself down the slide, head first.
he claps for himself, points, and waves his hand convincingly at the things he needs. he knows how to kick back and chillax in P's chair with his cheerios.
he can even drink out of a straw! (although often prefers to just dump juice all over himself)

49 Weeks
this week, Mohs got a visit from Granny Todd! which means lots of snuggling and park time and showing off and presents!

48 Weeks
I made the mistake of mentioning that I didn't think Mohs was very interested in walking. the very next day, he decided he had it under control, and started walking everywhere. he's pretty steady with his wide stance. even P blowing by him doesn't throw him off.
here's the naked baby frankenstein walk for your enjoyment :)
I finally got him a pair of shoes that we could smash his gigantic feet into. I even had to take the flip-flops back because his feet are too "tall" to fit under the straps. look out Shaq, here comes the next size 22.

47 Weeks
Mohs is getting tougher and bigger and more and more into his big brother. playing.
taking a bath.
watching monster trucks in their pjs.
sharing a meal (also a table, a fork, and a plate....)
these little dudes make me glad I squished two looooong pregnancies into a short time period.

46 Weeks
this week, Mohs celebrated his first Easter. we did an egg hunt with limited success.
until Mohs discovered peeps. then egg-hunting became serious business.
he figured that out quick. by the time we made it to Siti and Grandpa's, it took 3 minutes of inattention for Mohs to find P's Easter basket, tear it off the table, open the eggs and start scarfing down some jelly beans. (we obviously made a broad exception for choking hazards for the occasion.)
and when Mohs is a teenager and looks back on this holiday, he can thank me for not dressing him in any sweet little bunny outfits.

45 Weeks
Mohs is either an early talker, or I am so used to baby gibberish that I'm better at picking up words. I swear he picked up my phone the other day and said "hi Daddy." He also says "mom" and "siti" (much to Siti's joy!) if you tell him to say bye-bye, he flops his arm around in a little wave.

44 Weeks
Mommy made a prediction this week -- that Mohs will be walking by Sunday. he is already pushing the shopping cart around the house (which P helpfully loaded down with every canned good we own so it's a little more stable). when he gets going too fast, he freaks out and he doesn't know how to stop so he hops up and down until he falls and cries. fun times :)

43 Weeks
Mohs is definitely a Ruda. he loves to be outside, playing with tools (like Daddy) and wheels (like Daddy and Panzer) and dirt and slides (like Mommy :)

42 Weeks
Mohs has finally decided he's going to eat food. he's got enough teeth to gnaw on a pear (and doesn't he look dreamy doing it?) and can and will eat pretty much anything.
so, sorry dude, that means it's time for the dentist. he is NOT into poking around in his mouth, nose, ears, etc. BUT he put up with this:
gladly in exchange for his very own toothbrush to gnaw on!

41 Weeks
This week, we took Mohs to the train festival in Scottsdale. he liked the train (except the tunnel).
mostly he liked that Mommy let him crawl around in the fountain at the mall afterward.
and also sharing Daddy's ice cream cone :) (and by sharing, i mean, locking it into a death grip and smashing it into his face)

40 Weeks
Mohs has officially been out of the womb as long as he was in it. in 16 years, remind me of this face and how simple it used to be when we just banged crap around and made as much noise as we could and laughed and laughed.

39 Weeks
Mohs is such a happy, good-natured little guy. he patiently lurks around P waiting for toys. he's a big fan of batman's cape.
and today, he spent a solid 20 minutes crawling circles around me after this dog.
and he even humors me and the camera ... !

38 Weeks
Mohs got 4 new teeth this week! his top row is working its way in. you can still only see the bottoms, but he even took a cute little bite of his angry bird cracker instead of shoving the whole thing in at once! teeth:
he's already super into the sippy cup -- both his own and chasing down P's. and will cheese big time for the camera:
Mohs' hair is also coming in rapidly. it's hard to see because it's so light but it's thick and fuzzy like a brillo pad and grows in a big mohs-hawk like clump on the top of his head -- too early to tell if it will be curly but neither of these babies got Mommy's white blond mullet hair.

37 Weeks
this week, Mohs ate like a king. he's such a sporadic eater (despite those cheeks and thighs!) but eating is an event we celebrate and he is just so unbelievably cute at it.
he had guacamole for dinner one night. he must have unique taste for gourmet avocados + garlic + lemon juice. or he likes the guaco-stache.

he got a surprise visit from uncle joe, who gave him a chunk of watermelon to gnaw on. why didn't mommy think of that?

36 Weeks
Mohs can now be found almost exclusively in the standing position. to get a better view of the TV...
still not sure about the color of those eyes but they're gorgeous for sure.
or escape into the backyard....
or to spy on the neighbors...
still not sure about the color of those eyes but they're gorgeous for sure.

Day 253
Mohs can now pull himself up ... and squish himself comfortably back onto the floor so he can race off to a new adventure. to the extent anything was safe before the 253rd day, nothing is safe anymore!

35 Weeks
Mohs will not be an army-crawler forever! altho he is very efficient at dragging himself around by the elbows, he will now get on his hands and knees and make a few moves before flattening back out for the remainder of his journey.
in fact, Mohs won'tbe crawling at all for long... he can do a whole lap around the house holding onto fingers and takes big purposeful steps. P started walking just a few weeks short of his first birthday; i suspect Mohs will beat him out. he obviously is in love with his little walker :)
we took the kids to the zoo this weekend, and Mohs was totally into the reptiles. every time he made eye contact, he'd kick kick kick and wave his little arms around to try to get at it. he also seemed to enjoy the fish.
he rode the skyride with daddy, which he seemed to enjoy until he didn't ... giving mommy a heartattack with all his wiggling back there. thankfully, daddy was prepared with binky in pocket, and we all landed safely.
